Why do we practice church membership?
Because we believe that a personal commitment to Jesus Christ is to be lived out corporately in the context of a local church, the most important way to get involved at IBEN is to become a member. Several times a year we hold classes to introduce prospective members to IBEN, its history and beliefs and its leaders.

Members can join this Church:
- By publicly acknowledging Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and following Him in believer’s baptism.
- By coming on transfer of church membership from another Baptist church.
- By statement of having received Christ as Lord and Savior, and having been scripturally baptized.
- By coming as an associate member. Your regular membership can remain in your home church, but you come under the watchcare of IBEN while living in Madrid. In each case, you would need to fill out the appropriate application form (including your personal testimony of salvation), then have an interview with one of the pastors or deacons, and be ratified by the congregation.
